Things weren’t looking good on Saturday at the DZ when the skies were overcast and threatening. With Tom and Jeanie’s wedding only hours away time was limited and we had to get going, but we vowed to return the next morning.
Things looked great, though, San Marcos is the best DZ I’d ever seen. There was just a certain something about the place, I am not sure, if it wasn’t their Grand Carivan it was probably the pool with the palm trees.
We rendevoued with Eric and Irene (wonderful to see you guys again), and after a little shopping the nav unit found the San Marcos River Pub & Grill). It’s hard to recommend this place enough, so if you’re in the area, stop by. The correct answer is to sit outside, preferably by the railing.
Tom & Jeanie were wed under the same threatening clouds, but the rain held off and she got the outdoor wedding that she wanted and everything was wonderful. Victoria and I both wish them the best of everything in their newly minted marriage.
The next morning the clouds were still threatening, but about 15 minutes before we made it to the DZ they suddenly broke and everything burned off within a matter of minutes. We arrived in time to get Victoria manifested on the first load of the day.

She screamed so loud going out the door that we could actually hear her on the ground, these faint, shrill screams carried on the wind. People on the ground laughed, and she had such a great time that she turned around and did it a second time.
And of course thanks to Bryan for such swank accommodations; if you are blond and hot I highly recommend a stay at Hotel Wann.
