KS Rocks Park

It seemed assured that I’d break something at KS Rocks, and I had decided that ripping a sidewall was the best bet. The previous owner had street tires and they looked pretty tired to begin with. Sure enough, I did, at Brady’s suggestion more ‘mo getting up a steep inclined would do the trick.
We had a really great time, and Randy sure saved the day a couple times in his D90. I am glad we got those recovery points, Ben and I both needed front winching a couple times by the end of the day. The people down there are a nice set of folks, too, (even the jeep owners). I think I’ll get an annual pass in January.
What I hadn’t been counting on was taking out a doe on the way down. I took out the doe, she took out my disco, that is. In descending orders of importance, we are lucky to be alive, and then I am lucky it didn’t take out a radiator, the hood, and much more than it did. It did crush in the front radiator support panel, though, and that’s big bucks. It’s also a weld job so not something I can deal with myself; I estimate $2000-$3000.
The bumper bent in but I really didn’t care because I was going to replace it anyways. Randy straightened it out with the winch on his D90 in about 1.2 seconds, anyways. All the plastic crap had to go as well, so, no loss there; Ben was a great help in ripping part of it off later when we needed to get a hi-lift on.
Weird thing here. We need to hi-lift the truck had no suitable point, all that plastic crap was in the way which is why we started tearing it all off. And underneath I swear on the factory bumper were these two little hook recess pocket things that were absolutely perfect for getting a hi-lift claw into. It’s like they were made for it.
