Remington: Now Featuring 2 Headlights
Jan 5th, 2005 by C. Alexander Leigh
Victoria is out in the cold carefully sanding, spraying adhesion
promoter, and finally spraypainting the replacement trim panel for
the front of the truck. In the meantime I replaced the headlight.
The new bulb I put in made me realize how yellow and awful the other
one was, so I had to replace that one too! The trim panel and turn
signal should go in tomorrow and that will finally be the last of the
Bambi incident.
I also ordered Masterpull 3/8″ synthetic winch cord to replace the wire
line that the Superwinch came with. That should be here hopefully
before the weekend, but, knowing my luck, it’ll be here next month.
I also had an interesting experience today at the auto paint store. I went
in and we looked up the truck in this huge book of vehicle paint chips,
matched the color, and they /made/ me the paint – and put it in a
spray can! I was pretty inpressed. Now I have a krylon sized spraypaint
can that matches the truck perfectly.
The weather today was just dreadful, but it could have been worse,
the 2wd people were still making it up hills. The truck had no problems
whatsoever and the mud tires also turn out to do a good job throwing
slush and packed ice off the cleats, which helps it to slow down I think,
it sort of builds up rather than sliding over. I’m also running a
higher than normal air pressure to help cut through the crap.
