Adventioneering Camp Location

I estimate our camp location at BM07 to be: 40°44’38.04″N 119°14’24.38″W. This is only an estimate because it’s based on my understanding from last year that the offset black rock city position was an experiment and would revert to the “traditional” location this year.

Tactical Networking

I setup a Soekris net4511 box with a Mini-PCI radio (Prism 2.5) to suck Internet off the wireless and rebroadcast it out the Ethernet. I’ll probably ultimately integrate this into the Airstream when I do the rebuild, so that it can use the higher-power radio and antenna setup to pull in Internet from surrounding hotspots. [...]

In Anticipation of Burning Man

More Photos Thanks to Aaron, last night I got the chance to use an Oxyacetylene torch to create a great burn barrel out of an old 55 gallon drum for our upcoming trip to the Black Rock Desert. We cut the drum in half with the torch, cutting a flame effect across the top and [...]

For those of you who were unable to make it, we missed you and hope you make it to the next one, since we’ll definitely be doing this again! The [...]
