Hitch Installed & Swaybar Repaired

The hitch is installed. It was a pretty straightfoward installation but it was tight, I had to use a floor jack to get it on. The issue was the tabs were just slightly too tight against the frame rails. The wiring was a snap, 2 minutes to install.
We’re looking at trying to hit these waypoints [...]

Whistler Ride

The peak to peak gondola is open at Whistler in advanced of the Winter 2010 games. I would like to ride this at least once.

Taking Places for Granted

When we lived in SEA and moved off to BOS I reminisced about the things I took for granted and never did while I lived in SEA. Now that I am leaving the east coast I can easily think of the hundreds of things I didn’t do while I lived here either.
I figured I’d [...]

Thank God For The Demand Chain

The hitch & trailer wiring shipped today, so that means we’re in good shape to make the 9/5 departure. Changed the oil on the TJ today and had a look around at everything underneath. The front pinion seal isn’t weeping at all, which means it’s either out of oil or it fixed itself, I’ll have [...]

Trailer Load Planning

Everything we own needs to fit in this roughtly 5×8×5.25 space. It’s challenging but a good excuse to get rid of all that crap we never use anyways. Of all my moves, I think so far this one is the least-stressful, especially packing wise. We did a good job shedding stuff coming out here and [...]

It is Raining

It is raining today in Waltham, an odd, heavy rain. It’s the weird stormy rain that you get in Seattle, actually, where half the sky is blue but it’s pouring anyways. Hopefully we can bring it back because I heard this rumor it has been unusually dry in the PNW this year.
Today we got rid [...]

Packing

The furniture is starting to disappear into other people’s hands, although not as quickly as we’d like. It’s not surprising to me that the stuff that sold the quickest (immediately) and still held some value were tools and tool-related things, the air compressor and my tool chest. I maintain that tools always hold value, and [...]

Synthetic Winch Line

I don’t think I got around to mentioning it, but of course the synthetic line I had ordered did show up, and of course, I did install it. I haven’t gotten to use it yet but so far I am really happy with the thimble design instead of the hook. It seems to provide a [...]

Dense Tools

What is it, 22 days until departure?
Each time we move, we seem to take less stuff. Once you figure out how worthless stuff really is, the cost of moving it easily begins to outweigh its actual value. It’s no joke, stuff owns you. Get rid of it.
When we moved from MCI to SEA it was [...]
