Hitch Installed & Swaybar Repaired
Aug 31st, 2009 by C. Alexander Leigh

The hitch is installed. It was a pretty straightfoward installation but it was tight, I had to use a floor jack to get it on. The issue was the tabs were just slightly too tight against the frame rails. The wiring was a snap, 2 minutes to install.
We’re looking at trying to hit these waypoints for the trip:
Saturday: Buffaly NY, 720km
Sunday: Minneapolis MN, 1520km
Monday: Billings MT, 1350km
Tuesday: Redmond WA, 1320km
I had gotten used to driving the Jeep with the redneck swaybar disconnect, I was surprised at how “well” it handles now that I hooked it all back up. It makes a big difference. I am really looking forward to putting the 2″ lift on, which is sitting here in a box, mocking me, but I am planning on waiting until Seattle to do it in case there are problems. I think it’ll actually improve the ride quality since the Jeep has >100K miles on the original shocks right now.
