Cascades

So yesterday JG and I went up into the mountains. There are still there, if anyone was wondering! We headed out to this random spot on the NF-65 network I had chosen, and ended up at N47 47.794 W121 15.745 which is a pretty great view.
There’s some sort of “thing” on the ridge line north across the valley, but we didn’t have binoculars so we couldn’t figure out what it was. From the maps it doesn’t seem like much goes up there in the way of roads, either, at least not to the top. Looking at the map after the fact I would guess this thing to be around 47.8291 -121.2675. Have to check it out at some later date.
We also went down to Reiter which seems curiously “official” now that the state has gotten involved. Everything is basically the same except there are these bright happy signs everywhere, and they barricaded the dirt road from the main road so you have to get in over the ORV trails. The mine is still there and JG has become preoccupied with going in. It’s flooded so we were thinking of making a little rover on a RC boat platform to send in to explore so we don’t get killed.
I don’t think it would be nearly as exciting to explore without the possibility of joining the lonely dead miners in their ice-watery grave
The “thing” turns out to be a forest lookout tower.
