Jeep Propshaft
Feb 28th, 2010 by C. Alexander Leigh

Started putting the Jeep propshaft together after scoring a cool grease adapter set at Harbor Freight, but I realized that I’m dumb to try to do this before getting a vise because that just makes it 100x easier. I am not sure how people do this on the trail, I guess they just want it enough because they want to get their broken rig home.
So up next, time to build a sturdy workbench and drop a vice on it.
GRAB a short chunk of 2×4 an old socket and a heavy hammer… You just have to be a bit delicate with the swinging motion, not to get carried away.
In a normal case I would sure agree, but this one cap wedged up so bad I couldn’t move it with a u joint tool and a breaker bar. I think the key to an off-road rig must be to break it a lot so you replace or at least disassemble the parts a lot, so when you go to fix it on the trail, everything is nice and easy.
I carry complete spare set….:) Makes life so much easier, and it helps that it is all Chomoly.
