I'll get a writeup together though I doubt I can properly capture the awe I felt in words. I've wanted to do some 2-3 day trips like this, and hope I can get something together. The only time I've seen sea lions gathering like that is in SF. (They're loud, they stink, and they won't do tricks despite your best efforts.) San Diego has seals, specifically in La Jolla.
