CB750 Engine

Got the valve cover off to realize that the engine seized in the most inconvenient place, with one of the crankshaft sprocket bolts directly down where it is difficult to fit a wrench. I’ll have to get a slim little wrench, or grind one down aaron-style, or figure something out. A SK 15 degree offset [...]

Weekend Miles

By the time we were at breakfast, Victoria and I were already late to the offroad thing, and we had the car not the Jeep. I kind of wanted to do something with her that wasn’t the same-old, so we drove up to Vancouver and I dropped in on some old friends of mine that [...]

CB750

I’ve been swamped this week, but I got the parts washer put together with 9 gallons of diesel today. Various bits of the motorcycle are soaking in it now. I haven’t cracked the engine or the carbs, yet. I am studying the service manual, planning the attack.

Ducati S2R Brakes

The Duc was grinding the rear brakes by Sunday, so I dropped it off at the shop and picked up some pads on Tuesday from east-side. Didn’t manage to get them in until tonight. The Brembo calipers are simple and well thought out, although I had to bang my pin out (yes I removed the [...]

CB750 Engine Out

It’s all true. With some handy help from Victoria, the CB750 engine is out. It did manage to piss a bit of oil everywhere, but, what can you do. It came out fairly easily; thanks to R for the trick to tip the bike over and just lift the frame off. Now the real work [...]

CB750

Pulled the rear tire, oil tank, carb rack, and prepped the engine for removal (got all the bolts out, tach cable, brackets, etc). The clutch wire needs to be dealt with and then it’s ready to tip over and pop the engine out. The intakes of #2, #3 especially and also #4 are crusted up [...]
