The problem was with the remote pins not making good contact, sorted enough by spacing the spins a little and probably (moreso) adding some di-electric grease. Probably a good idea anyways because the way the socket is on the winch, it can trap a little water. Now it becomes a game to see if Superwinch [...]

So three days ago I emailed away to Superwinch about my broken solenoid. And I’ve received… nothing. nada. zilch. zip. Not any kind of useful response, not even an auto-responder that they got my email and will think about it for days. I suppose this means that I have to call them, which is too [...]

Beautiful day in the Seattle area today, hope everyone was able to take advantage of it. I know a lot of people were – I saw a ton of bikes out today. I even got a ride in, after the following mess; This morning I decided to head out to Beckler (since it looked sort [...]

Finally found some time to put the winch on. Some observations. Despite what different people have said on the Internet, the superwinch does fit in the Rugged Ridge HD bumper, so it does appear they have change the pattern of the cut-out to fit the larger size. The winch does line up properly using the [...]

After OFR which was the second trip I’ve tried to use steel cable, I went ahead and ordered new synthetic line. In retrospect it was the right decision to throw the brand-new, unused steel rope away when I got my first winch, and I should have done it this time too. The steel line is [...]

The superwinch went on easily, the job was a bit (but not a lot) easier than doing it on the Discovery with the ARB bumper. It was primarily easier because it basically just sits on a flat piece of sheet steep on the top of the existing bumper/frame combination. All this is “temporary” until my [...]

The place I bought it from was so scary and cheap, I almost expected to receive a SuparWench instead of a SuperWinch, but sure enough, my faithful companion has arrived. Now for a mounting plate… I ordered one from LOD but by now I’ve figured out that is going to take forever, so I ordered [...]

I told Jordan that if he closed on his new orange TJ that I’d buy a winch. The reasoning is pretty simple; he’s by far the unluckiest bastard I know so someone around him should have a winch if he has a Jeep. If he got one, it would just break. He hasn’t closed on [...]
